sharonmarais, her husband, John just called me to tell me of her death and ask me to let people in fandom know.
She had the bug that all of us have been fighting off. Felt a little better and returned to work (in a hospital no less) and then felt really horrid on Thursday night. She went to the docs, who told her it was just a virus and to go home and rest.
It was meningitis, and it killed her. She died yesterday at 2:15pm UK time in the hospital at Cambridge.

Date: 2009-01-11 08:57 pm (UTC)I didn't know Sharon very well, hadn't talked with her in quite a while, but we were part of the same yahoo group (for baking and cooking and recipes, a group called 'well-loved-recipes' on yahoo) and she had just sent a message to us a couple weeks ago, a Christmas card. She was so kind and thoughtful. A great and lovely lady.
I am so sorry for your pain and loss.
